About Aphes

The Associação Portuguesa de História Económica e Social aims to contribute to the progress of studies in economic and social history.

The APHES organized 37 yearly scientific conferences. The organization of these conferences is carried out by members of the association in different Portuguese universities. The yearly rotation of the responsibility for organising the annual conference reflects the diversity of the university landscape. It also promotes the development of economic and social history across the national territory.
